Dag 27 Lijiang til
Shangri-la via Tiger kløften. 255 km

I bilen i dag,
Hvis man vil have mere jord at
Man betaler
gratis.

11th June, distance
255 km, driving time 6 hours.
Left our hotel at 9.30 am, after Louis spent 45 min trying
to back his car out.
We had a long day ahead, as we were going to drive to
Shangri-la. (Top of the world).
We first missed our turnoff and had to drive 60 km extra. We
then drove through some fantastic mountain roads. It was a pleasure to drive on
these well build and fantastic roads, even though they were only 2 way.

Our first stop ,was at the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Where
apparently the myth is, that a tiger was seen leaping from stone to stone. What
ever, I enjoyed the drive up here and since my back was playing up, I let the
other tourists walk down to the gorge and burn a few calories.
We had pizza for lunch, which was crap.

On the way to Shangri-la, we first drove the wrong way again,
for about 20 km, this was again a very narrow steep road, going up the
mountains, and we had to turn around, with almost no place to do so. The drive
up the mountains, was a fantastic experience. It was a bit misty, as we passed
the clouds, and we soon reached the top of the mountains.
Spectacular views and shitty toilets.
The Chinese have spent all their money on building roads.

Reached the hotel 5 pm, and I went straight to the spa to have a massage.
