mosten). Det viste sig så, at man kunne
komme dertil næsten lige midt i byen.
We saw this little boy on the mud road - Vi så denne lille dreng på den dårlige vej

Fremme i Lijiang

12th June, distance
208 km, driving time 4 hours
Today was sightseeing in the morning and a drive back to
Lijiang, in the afternoon.
We had decided to see the famous Shangri-la monastery.
On the way there, our guide Sophie’s GPS, decided to play
spoiled sport, and took us through a very muddy, dirty, small winding road.
Little old lady on the small road - Denne kvinde så vi på den mudrede vej
“Blackie” was at her ace, but we were very worried about the BMW, so we turned back after a few kilometres, and finally found our way up to the Monastery.

The Chinese have mastered the art of tourism. You pay
heavily to see any of the touristic sights. This said and done, the Chinese
love to travel in their own country, and as a result, there were a zillion
pictures taken of Susanne, again, and a few of Louis and me.
The Monastery was fantastic. It was build by a Tibetan Monk
300 years back, and it is the most important Monastery in South west China .
We meet a family which wanted a photo - Vi mødte en familie som gerne ville have et billede.
Beautiful view - flot udsigt fra klosteret

Walking around the Monastery with its fantastic view, left
us breathless ( altitude 3200 meters).
On the drive back to Lijiang, we could hardly breathe, given
the high altitude and the fantastic view, the drive down was fascinating and at
times scary.
Scary roads - Farlige veje
Reached Lijiang at 5.30 pm.
